Luck isn’t random.
It follows those who take action, share their ideas, and put themselves in motion.
If no one knows what you're working on, how can opportunity find you?
If you stay in the same circles, how will fresh ideas or unexpected connections reach you?
The more you engage, the more surface area you give luck to land.
People who attract luck tend to:
Move first.
They don’t wait for the perfect moment; they create it.
Make their work visible.
Whether through writing, speaking, or connecting, they let others see what they’re building.
Stay curious.
They engage with people and ideas outside their usual lane, creating more chances for valuable collisions.
Why It Matters
Careers open up when people know what you stand for and what you can do.
Decisions improve when you expose yourself to different ways of thinking.
Leadership strengthens when you encourage the free flow of ideas instead of keeping things closed off.
3 Ways to Expand Luck Surface Area:
Share what you’re working on, even if it’s not perfect.
Someone out there has the next piece you need.
Step into new conversations, industries, or networks.
Opportunities rarely come from where you expect them.
Give more than you take.
The goodwill you build returns in ways you can’t predict.
Luck isn’t something you wait for.
It’s something you increase by being in motion.

Expand your Luck Surface Area at any point in your journey.
This may require you to leave your comfort zone.
The rewards can be outstanding.
I have experienced notable gains of expanded luck surface area (LSA) many times.
I have been strategic about this: where I live, where I work, and where I engage.
