Music to my ears.
Because I’ve always been drawn to helping people reframe what’s next - especially after they’ve already achieved so much.
It’s easy to believe that by mid-career, you should already be the finished product.
But experience can outgrow its own packaging.
And that’s when the real work begins.
I’ve seen it countless times.
Leaders who have spent years collecting expertise, titles, and credentials suddenly realize their story hasn’t kept pace with who they’ve become.
That moment isn’t failure.
It’s signal.
When they find the courage to ask what’s next, it opens a door most never walk through.
It’s not reinvention - it’s recognition.
I’ve been coaching in one form or another since the fifth grade.
My family faced a life-altering change, and I found myself instinctively guiding, listening, and problem-solving.
I didn’t know it was called “coaching.”
I just knew it worked.
That same instinct carried into every stage of my career.
Healthcare. Leadership. Entrepreneurship. More.
A dozen US states. Two other countries.
Different settings. Same calling.
Helping others realign to what already exists within them.
That’s the real glow-up.
Not new.
True.
The client I mentioned?
They didn’t need a complete rebrand.
They needed permission to step into a version of themselves they’d already earned.
We clarified what they wanted to be known for.
We rebuilt language to match it.
And we reintroduced them to an audience that had been waiting to meet the current version of their expertise.
Results:
Booked for well-paid keynotes. Authoring a series of visible works. Upgrading lives.
The transformation wasn’t surface polish.
It was recalibration.
They didn’t need another title.
They needed their work to sound like their truth again.
A Reflection for You
Ask yourself two questions:
1. What part of my success no longer represents me?
2. Where have I outgrown my own story?
If the answers feel uncomfortable, good.
That’s where forward begins.
It’s never too late when curiosity still moves you.
Enough is when what you give finally reflects who you’ve become.
