Q1 Debrief - Clearer Eyes, Stronger Choices:

Q1 is done. Before rushing into Q2, take a moment.

Not to push harder - but to think more clearly.

You don’t need more noise. You need to notice.

What worked?

What didn’t?

Where did you show up fully - and where were you just managing?

Leadership is far more than keeping steady or busy. It’s about being honest.

With yourself, your energy, your results.

Look back with a critical eye, not a critical voice.

Some things drained more than they delivered.

Some routines kept you afloat, but not moving forward.

Some tasks made it to the finish line, but at the cost of too much.

Let those go.

Not out of frustration - but out of respect.

Respect for your time.

Your focus.

Your future.

Now look closer at what held up.

  • Where did you create impact, not just activity?

  • Who did you work better with, and why?

  • What structure or rhythm made things smoother?

Refinement isn’t intended to be flashy. It’s essential.

It’s what experienced leaders do - quietly, consistently.

For Q2, build around three simple principles:

  1. Preserve what’s working. Don’t complicate it.

  2. Adjust what’s promising but needs clarity.

  3. Drop what’s taking more than it gives.

Leadership is less about adding and more about editing.

Remove friction. Reclaim your time. Recommit with sharper intent.

This is how real progress happens - not in sweeping declarations, but in small, strategic decisions.

Ask yourself:

What am I no longer willing to tolerate in how I work or lead?

Where do I need to be more available - and where less?

What deserves momentum in Q2?

You don’t owe anyone another overbooked quarter.

You owe yourself better use of what you’ve learned.

You’re not starting over.

You’re stepping forward - with data, clarity, and earned perspective.

Make space. Move smarter.

And keep becoming the kind of leader people trust to think clearly - even when the pace picks up.

On a personal note, it’s been an odd year in Los Angeles with all the wildfire devastation around.

While I avoided personal loss beyond toxic air for a time(that was very tough), some of my favorite go-to areas were still decimated or are not fully accessible - and for a while to come.

Over the weekend, I hiked some incredible local ridges and peaks to experience spring after recent rains. Nature is a healer.

Time is a healer, too. Even in the vast burn scars, the vibrant spring green vegetation was fighting back.

Sometimes, we have to welcome time passing - not to see it as missed opportunities but as progress with a new focus. I am very much looking forward to Q2!
