Launching my Newsletter - Leading Greats #1
Intro | Offsite Strategy Meeting - Big Island, Hawaii | Scope
Hello everyone!
Thank you so much for trusting me with your time and attention - and allowing me into your inbox with my newsletter! I will honor your trust in me.
I have been talking about starting my newsletter for a time now. And I kept waiting for things to be just perfect for launching it. Perfect is a matter of perspective as it turns out.
Seth Godin recently told me “Ronnie obscurity is not what you want, put yourself out there. Don’t worry if no one reads your work. Just start”. Great encouragement from such a wise accomplished author, entrepreneur, and mentor!
First a quick bit of background and what you might expect from me and this newsletter.
I have had an interesting and full career in healthcare and leadership in a few strategic areas. As a first career move, I became a RN with sights on advanced practice in time. After a few years I wanted a different set of skills, then I earned my MBA and subsequently held a few diverse leadership positions that spanned large pharmaceutical corporations and startups to healthcare and innovation.
Part of my path has included geographical shifts as I have always been innately curious. And in more formative career years I made myself open and available to opportunities and new locations where I could learn all that I could - while growing and making meaningful contributions along the way. Being service minded is part of my fabric while solutions focused.
I have lived in a few regions in the USA, from the northeast coast to the west coast and in the middle. Also, I lived overseas. I was in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil briefly. And in Bangkok, Thailand for a few years. These additional international transitions were part of my development plan and have offered me broader perspectives. Currently I live in Silicon Valley California near Stanford University.
With the initial surge of Covid19 I took a pause from being an employee. This allowed a solid look at my career history, what I am passionate about - my WHY, plus what I hear and understand my strengths and gifts are. Including what I could enjoy doing - if differently, long term.
For as long as I recall I have been an enthusiast of well-being, self-care, and personal development. I often get feedback that I tell great stories and that I should be writing books. More to come on that in time.
Since Covid I became a Professional Coach focused on leadership and optimal performance and outcomes. This had an earlier beginning in the corporate world where I was trained for Leader as Coach. The world needs more great leaders!
I have done an appreciable amount of reading since Covid began and I have engaged in a good amount of inner work. This continues. It is my expectation that this always will.
Additionally, I am eager to see what meaningful solutions the recent and rapid advances in technology will bring in the near future and beyond.
This newsletter has the possibility to cover things I am experienced in and skilled at, as well as things that I am interested in, curious and excited about.
I aim to share useful and helpful insights with readers. Hopefully these will interest you. I look forward to your feedback as well.
Like many of us, I too am deeply concerned about a few of our most pressing societal issues from the Climate emergency to the Healthcare crisis, among other areas. I tend to seek a silver lining and what is possible for the greater good.
With that I would like to release this initial version of my newsletter to you sharing that I am recently back from an offsite strategy and planning getaway on Big Island, Hawaii. It was superb. This newsletter is part of the takeaway actions from that retreat.
It is now Springtime! The time is now. Here it is - my newsletter for you.
The thought I am closing with is - courage leads to confidence.
There is a bit of Imposter Syndrome in many of us.
Take the first step with courage and confidence builds.
I ask that you please be patient with me while I find my voice and audience for this newsletter communication. Biweekly to weekly is the planned frequency - TBD.
Feel free to contact and connect with me, offer constructive feedback, suggestions, etc.
Enjoy a few photos below that were recently taken on Big Island, Hawaii.
This is exciting!!
Thank you kindly for your interest and support,
Ronnie
